Ducted Systems

Whole-house heating and cooling through discreet ceiling or floor vents. No wall units, no clutter. Just consistent comfort in every room.

Ducted heat pump system installation

As one of Golden Bay's few dedicated ducted system installers, we handle every stage: From initial site assessment and system design through to installation and commissioning.

Ducted heat pump systems heat and cool your entire home from a single outdoor unit. The system is hidden in your ceiling or floor space, with only discreet vents visible in each room. No wall units, no clutter: Just even, comfortable temperatures throughout your home.

Ducted systems are ideal for larger homes, new builds, or renovations where you want consistent whole-home climate control.

Why choose a ducted system?

Whole-home comfort

One system heats and cools every room. No cold hallways, no uneven temperatures between spaces.

Nothing on the walls

The indoor unit sits in the ceiling space. You only see small, flat vents in the ceiling or floor of each room.

Zone control

Optional zoning lets you set different temperatures for different parts of the house. Only heat the rooms you're using.

Efficient to run

Modern ducted heat pumps use a fraction of the energy of older heating methods. Zoning helps keep running costs down further.

How a ducted system works

An outdoor unit connects to an indoor unit in your ceiling space. From there, insulated ducting runs to ceiling or floor vents in each room. A controller on the wall lets you set the temperature, and with zone control you can manage different areas independently. It's a simple concept, but the design and installation need to be done carefully to get even airflow and quiet operation.

Is a ducted system right for your home?

Ducted systems work best in homes with accessible ceiling space and enough room for ducting. They're a natural fit for new builds, renovations, and larger homes where you want to heat and cool multiple rooms without wall units in every space.

Not every home suits a ducted system. If your ceiling space is tight or you only need to heat one or two rooms, a wall-mounted heat pump might be a better option. We'll tell you honestly what makes sense.
